Airbus delivered around 72 aircraft in September, almost matching the 73 it handed over in the same month a year earlier, industry sources told Reuters.

The provisional figure followed a late-month push to narrow earlier delivery delays. Airbus declined to comment ahead of its monthly orders and deliveries bulletin, which is due on 8 October.

If confirmed, the September tally would be higher than the delivery count in the mid-to-high 60s that analysts had been tracking, according to the sources.
