American Airlines announced Thursday that it will expand its inflight Wi-Fi modernization by bringing Starlink satellite internet to its entire mainline fleet, including Airbus narrowbodies and Boeing narrowbodies and widebodies.
The Fort Worth, Texas-based carrier said it plans to equip more than 1,000 mainline aircraft with the service, with installations scheduled to begin in early 2027.
The move positions American to operate one of the world's largest Starlink-connected fleets, building on an earlier plan that was limited to its Airbus aircraft.
The airline has not yet announced a completion date or passenger pricing for the expanded rollout.
