Archer Aviation, a developer of electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, plans to launch an air taxi network serving the Texas cities of Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston and Austin.

The company is developing the Midnight, an electric aircraft designed to carry passengers on short urban and regional routes. Archer has been working toward commercial air taxi operations in the United States.

The planned Texas network would connect the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex with Houston and Austin, targeting routes between the state's largest cities. Archer is among several eVTOL developers racing to bring electric air taxis into commercial service.
