China's first aircraft carrier has been conducting an evolving pattern of voyages in disputed Asian seas, according to a report by Defense News.

The report said the carrier's movements reflect a developing operational pattern for the People's Liberation Army Navy in the region.

Defense News described the deployments as part of a broader pattern of naval activity in waters that several countries dispute.
