A US Navy F-35C Lightning II has completed a landing on a new class of US Navy aircraft carrier for the first time, the US Naval Institute reported.

The F-35C is the carrier-capable variant of the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, configured for catapult-assisted takeoffs and arrested landings aboard aircraft carriers.

The landing marks a milestone in the ongoing integration of the stealth fighter across the Navy carrier fleet.
