Frontier Airlines reported a 71% year-over-year increase in average airfare in the third quarter of 2026, according to CNBC. The carrier's fare revenue averaged $67.82 per passenger, up from $39.74 a year earlier.

Including fees for checked and carry-on baggage, total revenue per passenger rose 30% to $138.22. Despite the higher prices, Frontier's passenger count still climbed 18% to more than 9.8 million people in the quarter.

The airline widened its third-quarter net loss to $104 million from $77 million a year earlier, as its fuel bill surged 82% to $425 million.

Frontier, now the country's largest budget airline after Spirit Airlines shut down in May, forecast a potential adjusted profit in the fourth quarter.
