Grand Forks Air Force Base in North Dakota has completed a runway resurfacing project, restoring the airfield to full operations.
The project resurfaced 171,167 square yards of asphalt on the base's 10,270-foot runway, according to officials.
During construction, the 319th Reconnaissance Wing temporarily relocated its RQ-4 Global Hawk Block 40 fleet to Robins Air Force Base in Georgia; the aircraft are expected to return at a later date.
