UK electric aircraft developer Skyfly has secured $10 million in seed funding to commercialize its Axe two-seat personal eVTOL aircraft.
The Axe is designed to need no runway, with a projected running cost of around £70 (about $90) per flying hour. Skyfly lists a range of more than 100 miles, a flight time of 60 to 90 minutes, a cruising speed of 100 mph and a 200 kg payload.
In 2025 Skyfly completed what it describes as Europe's first airfield-to-airfield eVTOL flight using the Axe prototype, departing from Turweston aerodrome in the United Kingdom. The new funding is intended to advance the aircraft toward certification and production.
