Swissport International, the global leader in aviation services, has signed binding transaction agreements to form a strategic joint venture with UNEX Aviation Services, a Jakarta-based ground handling company with more than four decades of experience in the Indonesian market.

Under the agreement, Swissport will acquire a stake in UNEX Aviation Services, marking its entry into Indonesia and strengthening its presence across the Asia-Pacific region.

UNEX, founded in 2003, provides air cargo warehousing and related services to airlines at Jakarta's Soekarno-Hatta International Airport and holds nationwide ground handling licences. The partners plan to expand beyond cargo into ramp handling and passenger services while extending operations to additional airports across Indonesia.

Swissport President and CEO Warwick Brady said Indonesia is one of the world's fastest-growing aviation markets, with IATA forecasting it to become the fourth-largest globally by 2030.
