The United States has lifted restrictions that had prevented Mexican airlines from launching new flights to the US from Mexico City's two international airports. The US Department of Transportation announced the move on 16 October 2026.
The curbs applied to routes from Benito Juarez International Airport and Felipe Angeles International Airport. They had been imposed amid a long-running aviation dispute between the two countries.
The lifting clears the way for Mexican carriers to expand service into the US market, a step Mexico said follows progress in resolving the dispute.
