The United States is sending a third aircraft carrier to the Middle East, The Wall Street Journal, The Guardian and UPI reported.

The reinforcement includes up to 10,000 additional US troops, according to the reports, and comes amid a stalemate in the Iran war.

Al Jazeera reported that the carrier and troop movements have raised questions about whether the conflict is about to escalate.
