Electra announced the successful takeoff and landing of its hybrid-electric Ultra Short aircraft at the Downtown Skyport in Lower Manhattan on October 26, 2026.

The flight is believed to be the first time a fixed-wing aircraft without vertical takeoff capability has landed at the Downtown Manhattan Heliport, also known as KJRB.

The milestone capped a series of demonstration flights conducted over the preceding two weeks, as Electra advances its ultra short takeoff and landing aircraft toward broader use.
