A Flydubai flight travelling from Dubai to Tel Aviv was disrupted by a violent incident on the flight deck. Israeli officials said a co-pilot stabbed the captain in what they described as an attempt to crash the aircraft.

Passengers and crew intervened and subdued the co-pilot, foiling the apparent attempt to bring the aircraft down. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described the episode as an attempted attack on the flight.

The aircraft was diverted and landed in Saudi Arabia, where it was met by authorities. Israel said the passengers' intervention prevented the flight from crashing.
