Swedish company Heart Aerospace has redesigned its hybrid-electric regional airliner, returning to a series-hybrid configuration. CEO Anders Forslund explained the change in an interview with Aviation International News.
The company has dropped its earlier ES-30 model in favor of the new ES-36. The redesign follows a commitment from U.S. charter operator JSX, which signed for up to 100 ES-36 airplanes.
The move marks a shift in Heart Aerospace's approach as it advances its hybrid-electric regional aircraft program.
