Archer Aviation has announced plans to build three air taxi networks across Texas, linking airports and business districts in Dallas-Fort Worth, Austin and Houston. The San Jose, California-based company said the networks will be served by its all-electric Midnight aircraft.

Commercial passenger service will begin once the Midnight receives full Type certification from the Federal Aviation Administration, which Archer expects to happen in early 2027. The company said fares are expected to be comparable to a premium rideshare service such as Uber Black.

The Midnight is a piloted, four-passenger electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft that can travel at about 150 mph with a maximum range of roughly 100 miles. Archer plans seven stops in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, five in Houston and three in Austin, including Dallas Love Field, George Bush Intercontinental Airport and the Circuit of The Americas helipad.

Archer displayed the Midnight at Circuit of The Americas during the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix. The company is among several participants in the FAA advanced air mobility pilot program.
