An Indian airline captain is being hailed as a hero after a cockpit attack on a FlyDubai flight was foiled, the Associated Press reported.

The in-flight attack on the FlyDubai pilot has put aviation security measures under fresh scrutiny, ABC News reported, renewing questions about protections for flight crews.

Reuters reported that the foiled attack clouds a regional airline revival in the Gulf, coming at a sensitive moment for the industry.
