Flydubai Flight FZ1073, a scheduled Boeing 737 MAX 8 flying from Dubai International Airport to Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv, made an emergency landing at Tabuk Airport in Saudi Arabia on 30 September 2026.
Israeli and regional officials said a co-pilot stabbed the captain and appeared to try to crash the aircraft. Passengers and crew overpowered the co-pilot and foiled the attack, and the plane landed safely.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the co-pilot is an Omani national who was arrested after the emergency landing and is being questioned by Saudi authorities.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
