Brazilian developer Moya Aero has completed a full transition flight with its full-scale MOYA 256 autonomous electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) cargo aircraft, demonstrating vertical takeoff, wing-borne flight and a return to vertical landing. The flight was announced on 21 October.

The test involved the aircraft taking off vertically, accelerating into forward flight and transitioning back to vertical flight for landing. Moya said the flight provided validation data for the aircraft's propulsion, aerodynamic and flight-control systems across the different flight phases.

The fully electric, uncrewed MOYA 256 is being developed for cargo transport and other missions, including medical and humanitarian deliveries, industrial logistics, e-commerce and agribusiness. Published specifications list a planned payload of 30kg and a range of 160km. Moya reports having received 119 letters of intent for its aircraft, though these are not necessarily firm orders.

The company has not announced a date for certification or entry into service, and further testing and regulatory approvals will be required before routine commercial operations can begin.
